How to Keep Your Chill with PCOS.

Living with PCOS can sometimes feel like being stuck in a reality show where your hormones insist on taking centre stage - and playing the villains, too. One moment you’re totally fine, and the next you’re tearing up over a TikTok of a kitten in a bowtie. Mood swings are one of the most overlooked (and draining) parts of PCOS, but the good news? They don’t have to run the show. Here are 5 ways to stay one step ahead of your hormones:

1. Balance your blood sugar.

Yes, your hormones care about your oat flat white.  Blood sugar spikes aren’t just about energy crashes, they’re actually tied to hormone fluctuations that can mess with your mood.  Try pairing your carbs with a protein or a healthy fat - think: apple + almond butter.  Don’t skip meals (hangry = hormone rollercoaster) and try to avoid coffee before food, caffeine on an empty stomach can actually spike cortisol even more.

2. Go for low intensity workouts.

Exercise doesn’t just tone, it regulates insulin sensitivity and pumps out endorphins, your natural chill pills.  Aim for low-impact workouts (Pilates, walking, yoga) help keep cortisol calm and try mixing in strength training for hormonal stability long-term.

3. Make sleep your non-negotiable.

Hormones love routine, and sleep is their favorite. PCOS mood swings often get worse when you’re running on empty.  Try aiming for 7-9 hours and start a wind-down ritual, think dim lights, phone down and no scrolling.

4. Outsmart your stress.

Cortisol, your stress hormone, can spike and trigger a cascade that leaves your mood all over the place.  Breath work, meditation, journaling will all help curb that inflammation.  Add in OVAPlus Advanced Hormonal Support - Myo-Insoitol, one of it's hero ingredients can support stress response and hormonal balance.

5. Support your hormones like a pro.

Mood swings are your body's way of telling you something's up.  If something feels off, it probably is so find the support you need.  Whether that's with your GP, taking a targeted supplement (we see you OVAPlus) or just try adding in at least one PCOS tool and staying consistent with it.
