Self-Care for the Season You’re In: TTC, Healing, or Just Curious.

Read time: 2 minutes

We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it louder for the people in the back: fertility isn’t a single moment - it’s a whole season. Whether you're trying to conceive (TTC), balancing out after a big life shift (hi, post-pill people), healing after loss or just curious about how your hormones actually work, your body deserves detail, not guesswork.

If you’re TTC

You're timing, you're tracking, you're peeing on all the sticks - it’s a lot, we know. This season can feel like a full-time job with zero down time and little headspace. It’s emotional, can be scientific, and often way more complex than anyone warns you.  But don’t panic - being proactive is your power move.  Small, steady steps can make this season feel a lot less overwhelming and a lot more intentional.

  • Support your body: Egg and sperm quality matter. Nutritional supplements that actually do the work (like ours) are a smart step.

  • Track smarter, not harder: Pair your routine with a cycle-aware app. We highly recommend Moody App to help decode symptoms and spot your fertile window without spiraling.

  • Check in with each other: TTC is a team sport - comms, care and compassion for both of you matter just as much as those daily vitamins.

If you’re healing

Maybe you’ve recently come off hormonal contraception. Perhaps you’re the 1 in 4 of us navigating loss, or sitting with a diagnosis that’s left you feeling uncertain. Maybe your cycle feels out of sync and you’re not sure why.  This season is about recalibrating, listening to your body again and giving yourself so much grace.

  • Feed your recovery: Prioritise nutrients that support hormone balance and replenish what’s been depleted (think zinc, folate, and Vitamin D).

  • Track your patterns gently: Apps like Moody lets you log what you're feeling without pressure or expectations - just information to guide your healing.

  • Give yourself time: Cycles don’t bounce back overnight and neither do emotions. Healing is still progress, even if it’s slow.

If you’re just curious

You’re not trying and not on a timeline but just wondering what your cycle is actually doing. This is the time to be proactive.  The earlier you understand your hormone health, the more options you’ll have later.

  • Start your new habit: Begin tracking your mood, skin, energy, and period symptoms in a way that’s easy to stick with (hi Moody).

  • Build your fertility foundation: Daily nutrients can help support long-term hormone health - even if babies are a distant maybe.

  • Normalize the narrative: Ask your mum about her menopause. Talk to your friends about cervical mucus. You’d be surprised what no one teaches us.

We’ve teamed up with Moody, the hormone health app that turns "what is happening to me??" into "ohhh, that makes sense." From mood swings and energy drops to skin changes and bloating, Moody helps you connect the dots and in a way that feels human, not clinical. Add in 3 months of free access when you shop OVA, and it’s basically your body’s new BFF.
